Indooroopilly Swim Club supports club members to participate in competitive swim meets.

Competitive level, competing in Brisbane Swimming Association and Swimming Queensland meets.

Our swimmers compete at these meets under the supervision of a coach.

Swimmers are generally not encouraged to swim in external meets before they reach the age of 8 and even then, in the first few years, parents should consider restricting the number of external meets in  which  their  children  swim.  Carnivals can involve long periods of waiting for both children and parents and this can be a discouraging experience.

Generally under the age of 10, children should to aim no more than 4 to 5 carnivals per season.

The list of targeted meets vary from year to year, but generally falls into 5 categories

  • Development meets

  • Transition and Prep meets

  • Regional Championship meets

  • State Championships

  • National Championships.

See the club hand book for more information about competing at external swim carnivals
